What drew you to becoming an Athletic Trainer?
"When I was in high school, I loved the job my Athletic Trainer had working with all of the student athletes. I took his sports medicine classes and had so much fun learning about injuries and how to treat them. "
What philosophy or approach do you bring to your athletes?
"Your body is lifelong, treat it right and you will be able to do the things you love for longer. Taking care of yourself before you think you really need to will put athletes ahead of the curve when it comes to injuries and recovery."
Can you share a memorable moment or success story?
"Many times I am the first person who gets the call when someone gets hurt. I can’t describe how much my athletes mean to me and the trust they put in me to make sure they get taken care of. Being injured and hurt can be a scary thing for an athlete, especially when it involves the unknowns of the recovery road. I always try to reassure and encourage them that as long as they are doing what needs to be done as far as rest, treatments, and rehab then they will get back to playing sooner. "
