The Blaine Borderites boys golf team opened their season with a strong performance at Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, finishing third overall in a competitive field. The Borderites only trailed Oak Harbor and Ferndale, both 3A schools, making their placement even more impressive.
Leading the way for Blaine was Peyton Bouma, who carded an 86, securing 1st place for the Borderites and 5th overall in the tournament. Close behind was Ellis Griffin, who shot a 91, finishing 2nd for Blaine and 13th overall.
With this solid start to the season, the Borderites look to build on their momentum as they continue competition in the coming weeks.
