Josh Cochran struck out 10 batters as the hurler led Blaine past Squalicum Varsity Storm 7-0 on Wednesday. Cochran surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings while walking one.

Blaine got on the board in the first inning after Brady Dohner singled, scoring two runs.

Blaine added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Cochran singled, scoring two runs, and Landon Brown scored after tagging up.

Blaine added one run in the third. Cochran grounded into a fielder's choice, making the score 6-0.

Hudson Johnson took the loss for Squalicum Varsity Storm. The starting pitcher went two innings, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out none and walking three. Dohner tossed two innings of no-run ball for Blaine in relief. The reliever gave up one hit, striking out two and walking one.

Dohner drove the middle of the lineup, leading Blaine with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Aaron Garza led Blaine with two hits in four at bats. Elijah Wenger led Blaine with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Evan Yates, Cochran, and Garza each stole multiple bases for Blaine. Blaine ran wild on the base paths, piling up nine stolen bases for the game. Blaine didn't commit a single error in the field. Yates had the most chances in the field with 13.

Henry Ingersoll, Johnson, Cameron Schmitt, and Tanner Berg each collected one hit for Squalicum Varsity Storm.

Blaine will travel to Bellingham High School for their next game on Friday.
