Ashton Vezzetti was dominant on the hill, as the starting pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in Blaine's 6-0 victory over Bellingham High School on Friday. Vezzetti gave up one hit and zero runs over seven innings while walking three.

Blaine scored five runs in the sixth inning on the way to victory. Hugo Vekved singled, scoring two runs, George Streeter singled, scoring one run, and Aaron Garza doubled, scoring two runs.

A fielder's choice by Garza put Blaine on the board in the top of the fifth.

Leonard took the loss for Bellingham High School. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out five and walking eight.

Garza provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Blaine with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-4 on the day. Josh Cochran set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Blaine with two hits in three at bats. Blaine had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 12 walks for the game. Elijah Wenger and Isaac Bouma led the team with three walks each. Blaine were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Evan Yates made the most plays with 14.

Harward led Bellingham High School with one hit in three at bats. Bellingham High School turned one double play in the game.

Blaine will travel to Lakewood High School for their next game on Tuesday.
