Shaylie Daniels collected four hits in five at bats, as Blaine defeated Meridian 11-5 on Tuesday. Daniels doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the third inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the first inning.

Blaine opened the scoring in the first after Aaliyah Bowman laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

Zandstra walked, which helped Meridian tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

In the top of the third, Blaine broke up the tie when Daniels singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Maddi Musto followed to extend the lead to 4-1.

Meridian captured the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the fifth after Blaine committed an error, and Margeson grounded out, each scoring one run.

Blaine flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Daniels that drove in two.

Daniels earned the win for Blaine. The hurler gave up three hits and three runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking three. Tenkley took the loss for Meridian. The starter went five innings, giving up eight runs (six earned) on 10 hits, striking out five and walking two. Mesa Puls collected the save.

Blaine accumulated 14 hits in the game. Bowman, Musto, and Courtney Roff each collected multiple hits for Blaine. Brie Smith and Roff each stole multiple bases for Blaine. Blaine ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.

Neil and S Tenkley were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Meridian. Tenkley led Meridian with two hits in four at bats. Meridian had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Tolsma, Zandstra, and Hill led the team with two free passes each. Meridian turned one double play in the game.

Blaine will travel to Lynden for their next game on Thursday.
