The Blaine Borderites boys soccer team is headed to the District 1 Championship after a convincing 2-0 win over Lynden Christian in Tuesday’s semifinal match.

Dima Yuryev was the star on the scoresheet, netting both of Blaine’s goals, including a crucial late strike that sealed the victory. Yuryev’s offensive prowess kept the Borderites pressing forward all night, but it was the full-team effort that earned the shutout.

Goalkeeper Abel Carlson-Vega delivered a standout performance, making a string of acrobatic and well-timed saves to keep Lynden Christian off the board. His efforts in goal were a difference-maker in a tense, physical contest.

With the win, Blaine now advances to face Meridian in the District Championship. The title match is set for Saturday at 3 p.m. and will be held on the Borderites’ home turf at Blaine High School.

Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they look to cap off their playoff run with a district championship.
