The Blaine Borderites track and field team is heading into the District 1 Championships this Wednesday and Friday at Lynden Christian High School, with several standout athletes poised to make a strong postseason run. The top placers will earn spots at the Bi-District meet next week in Granite Falls.
Leading the girls for Blaine is Teia Dube, who has emerged as a top contender in the high jump, consistently clearing impressive heights that place her among the best in the district. On the boys’ side, Josiah Weeda has made his mark in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, showing explosive speed and technical consistency throughout the season.
The boys 4x100 meter relay team—featuring Jaiden Paez, Colby Shipp, Dylan Johnson, and Beckum Bleazard—has turned heads with their chemistry and speed, clocking one of the top relay times in the league. Beckum Bleazard has also been a standout in the 100 meters, while Dylan Johnson has impressed in the 200 meters, both positioning themselves as key scorers heading into districts.
With talent spread across both track and field events, the Borderites are looking to send a deep group to Granite Falls. As the competition ramps up, all eyes will be on Blaine’s athletes to see who rises to the occasion.
