Blaine High School senior Josiah Weeda has officially committed to Colorado Christian University (CCU) to continue his track and field career. Weeda, a standout multi-sport athlete, recently captured district titles in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, solidifying his reputation as one of the top hurdlers in Washington’s 1A classification.
At the 1A District 1 meet hosted by Lynden Christian on May 16, Weeda clocked a winning time of 40.43 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles, showcasing his speed and technical prowess. His consistent performance throughout the season has been marked by explosive starts and smooth transitions, making him a formidable competitor in hurdle events.
In addition to his track achievements, Weeda was a key contributor to Blaine’s varsity basketball team. Standing at 6-foot-3, he averaged over 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game during his senior season, earning a spot in the Whatcom County Seniors Classic.
Weeda’s commitment to CCU marks an exciting new chapter in his athletic journey. His combination of speed, agility, and determination is expected to make a significant impact on the Cougars' track and field program.
