The Blaine Borderites earned their first win of the season Friday night, defeating the Chelan Goats 33-19.
Quarterback Connor Brown led the way through the air, throwing for 176 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson Bogaards hauled in a 30-yard touchdown catch, while Hunter Candanoza added a 6-yard scoring grab.
The highlight of the night came from Kai Kerwin, who made history by breaking a school record previously held by Wayne Vezzetti. Kerwin intercepted a pass and returned it 87 yards for a touchdown, then added another score on a 26-yard reception.
On the ground, Jaiden Johannesson showed his speed with a 60-yard touchdown run that gave Blaine even more momentum.
The Borderites (1-2) will look to keep things rolling tomorrow night when they host Granite Falls for Homecoming at 7 p.m. Tickets are available on GoFan.
