Bowling Defends Academic State Championship and Places 11th at State

The Blaine Borderites girls bowling team has once again proven that excellence extends beyond the lanes. For the second consecutive year, the team has claimed the 1A Academic State Championship, boasting an impressive team GPA of 3.76.

The Borderites secured their spot in the state competition by winning the district championship held at Riverside Lanes in Mount Vernon on January 28, 2025. They went on to showcase their skills at the state bowling competition held at Bowlero in Tukwila, Washington, placing 11th among the top teams in the state. Their strong performance capped off another season of dedication, teamwork, and achievement both academically and athletically.

This year's team featured seven standout athletes:

- Ainslee Ellis
- Madi Miller
- Danika Morecombe
- Mackenzie Schreiner
- Nevaeh Zaddack

Winning the Academic State Championship for a second consecutive year highlights the team's commitment to success in the classroom as well as in competition. With another season in the books, the Blaine Borderites Girls Bowling program has set the standard for future teams to follow. Their remarkable combination of academic excellence and competitive spirit makes them a true powerhouse both on and off the lanes.
