Brie Smith drove in four runs on one hit to lead Blaine Varsity Borderites past Squalicum 15-10 on Thursday. Smith doubled in the third inning, scoring two runs, and walked in the fourth inning, scoring one.
The Borderites flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring seven runs on six hits to take the lead, 11-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Johnston that drove in two.
Shaylie Daniels earned the win for Blaine. The righty allowed four hits and five runs over four innings, striking out seven. Mesa Puls pitched three innings in relief for Borderites.
